INFANCY SEBORRHOEIC DERMATITIS/ECZEMA
This form of Dermatitis/Eczema is non itchy with accompanying red and scaling skin eruptions. It usually is found on the scalp, within flexures and nappy areas. It is not related to the Adult form of this condition, and is considered by some to be the early signs of Atopic Dermatitis/Eczema or contact nappy dermatitis.

It usually starts around 1 month of age with cradle cap and may be found in the flexural regions of the groin. It can spread down the thighs and up the trunk and can even be found around the nostrils and behind the ears. The rash has a clearly defined edge and greasy scales may develop, specially on the scalp. Usually the baby is not concerned by the rash and it often clears by the age of six months.
If it remains beyond three months it may mean that the condition is actually Atopic Dermatitis/Eczema.
