INFANCY ATOPIC DERMATITIS/ECZEMA
This condition usually presents between the ages of 2-6 months, but this can vary. It characteristically starts on the cheeks but may occur anywhere on the body and presents as fluid filled, red raised spots or lesions. With scratching the area can become weepy and crusted often becoming infected by secondary infections. This condition requires prompt treatment.

More than 50% of babies will go on to develop the flexural pattern of the childhood phase, whereas the remainder are usually “clear” by 18-24 months.
